Dan and Tom Harrison

We have guided full-time since 2003.  We spent our first four seasons in West Glacier, Montana guiding the Flathead Rivers (north, south, middle forks).  While chasing the west slope cutthroat trout that live in the glacial waters of the Flathead, we had the opportunity to run 3-5 day wilderness fishing trips in the Bob Marshall Wilderness area south of Glacier Park. These were fly-in/pack-in trips that floated through stretches of the upper-middle fork, which is jammed with cutthroats that would eat big dries.

Our stint out west led to a chance of a lifetime to guide in La Junta, Chile. We guided the many great rivers and lakes of the northern Patagonia region. The Palena, Roselot, Figueroa, and Yelcho are all incredible glacial lake/river systems that are loaded with rainbows and huge brown trout. Although we had great experiences in other parts of the world, our loyalty remains here in Western Massachusetts, where we have guided year-round since 2007.

Meet Our Guides

Phil has always been drawn to the outdoors and was lucky enough to be brought up in a family that valued time spent camping, fishing, and exploring the natural world. An avid fisherman from a very young age targeting bass and anything that swam in his local waters.

His obsession with the sport started here spending countless hours reading books, tying flies, and practicing knots. As a teenager Phil got involved in Trout Unlimited, working with his local chapter, as well as attending trout camp in Pittsburg New Hampshire where he continued to volunteer as an instructor over a decade later. As a full-time guide, he’s able to experience our amazing fishery twelve months a year. Guiding is his life’s passion, there’s nowhere he’d rather be then on a boat showing anglers the rivers he calls home.

Jake was born and raised in Colrain, MA and grew up fishing, snowboarding, biking, playing sports, camping, and enjoying as much time outdoors as possible. At a very young age, he knew that a 9-5 office job would never be for him as he grew up fishing local rivers with a spinning rod. As he got older, he noticed fly fishermen scattered around the Deerfield and other local rivers and quickly found what he wanted to pursue.

He bought a fly rod and spent multiple days, weeks, and hours practicing casting in his backyard in the dead of winter. Eventually, he started scouting local rivers and tributaries and spending every second on the rivers. During that time, he began tying his own flies, and fortunately, patience paid off, and he was soon catching fish on his home-tied flies. Before he knew it, Jake was obsessed and couldn’t put the rod down. His true passion was always to learn the art of fly fishing, and he quickly dreamt of being a guide someday, giving people the same feeling of catching trout/bass as he did initially.

Fast forward years later, Harrison Anglers noticed his effort and passion and joined the team. In a short amount of time, Jake was experiencing the unbeatable joy of being able to put a client on either their first or personal best fish. Jake looks forward to making more memories of catching fish, rowing, and enjoying the natural beauty of our area with new and returning clients.

Eliaah was born and raised in Western Massachusetts, where his dad got him fishing as soon as he could walk, tying flies and fly fishing by age 6. Eliaah spent all his teenage years exploring Massachusetts and its many fisheries, developing his angling skills, and targeting all species, focusing mainly on trout and pike. He started guiding at 16 and has been at it for four years. Guiding has allowed Eliaah to immerse himself in the fly fishing world fully. He spends most of his days on the water, either fishing and exploring or sharing his knowledge with others.

It started as a hobby in Pittsburgh, New Hampshire. Jenny was always by her grandfather's side, wading in creeks or casting spin rods off his old blue and white boat. The more time passed, the better she got, and a new world opened. Fly fishing. Jenny's passion for fly fishing grew, and she soon noticed herself taking every moment of spare time to be on the water. Flipping rocks and educating herself about the rivers and fish became something far greater than a hobby. Jenny found her belonging and purpose.

The experience you get fly fishing, at least for Jenny, is the most addictive feeling in the world. Jenny wanted to become a guide to share her passion and experience with others.

Oliver grew up in the Boston area but began fishing in Vermont, where his dad taught him to fly fish as a child. He has been a passionate angler for over 17 years and has guided in Massachusetts, Vermont, and Utah. While fishing he enjoys employing a variety of techniques but is particularly adept at tightline and euronymphing. During the winters, Oliver works making ski videos all over the world. There is not much he enjoys more than teaching people and sharing his passion for fly fishing and the outdoors.

We look forward to hosting you on the river soon!
